Series: God is More Than Awesome

Romans 10:18-12:2

Sermon summary: In this series, we’ve explored “that God is” as the self-existing God – Creator, LORD, Redeemer. We then explored “what kind-of-God-God is” as to His attributes. The last little while has involved enjoyment of “Who God is” in His names and Triune nature. In this message, we will go from “the God that is” to “the God that acts”. God is never remote. He is here. He is not silent. He has acted. He ever Sovereignly acts.

1. God’s Sovereignty, His power to act. Romans 10:18-11:32.

*Sovereignty is that perfection in which God has unlimited right and power to be God and be so over what He has made.

2. God’s knowledge and wisdom, His plan to act. Romans 11:33-36

*God’s knowledge is that perfection by which He comprehends all that could be and is.

*God’s wisdom is that perfection through which He executes, for His glory, what will complete His intended outcome.

3. God’s will, His purposeful act, our need to react. Romans 12:1-2

*God’s will is God acting, by His pleasure, His most knowing and wise desire through means and creaturely decisions, to accomplish His hidden, allowed or revealed purpose.
