1 Timothy 3:1
1. Definite need for God-called pastors.
A. Divine Scripture emphasizes this need.
B. Desperately needed in people’s lives.

2. Divine call of the Pastor.
A. Promptings (that alert the calling).
B. Confirmation (that affirms the calling).
C. Longing (caused by the importance of the calling).
D. Evidence (proof that you are being called).

3. Descriptions of the Pastor.
A. Pastor – Shepherd (feeds the flock).
B. Overseer – Soul-care (protector of the flock).
C. Elder – Set-example to the flock.
D. Preacher – Sound expositor (unpacking Scripture to the flock)
E. Evangelist - Soul-winner (for those not yet of the flock).
