Mark 9:11-29 – Faith in the valley

1. What is faith? Why valleys?

 In valleys, in seasons of difficulty, God grows His faithful ones, walks with them, and teaches them how to obtain victory. Faith is firm persuasion in God and His Word.

            *As an ability, faith is bestowed by God. Eph 2:8-9.

            *As an awareness, faith seeks God. Hebrews 11:1-2.

            *As an action, faith obeys God. James 2:14-17

            *As an attitude, faith trusts God. Hebrews 11:8

2. Faith in the valley feeds on Word of God. Mark 9:9-13

            *The Word of God gives hope to faith.

            *The Word of God grants an urgency to faith.

            *The Word of God gives endurance to faith.

3. Faith in the valley grows desperate for God. Mark 9:14-29

            *To strengthen perspective.   Mark 9:14-20

            *To strengthen perseverance.  Mark 9:21-27

            *To strengthen prayer. Mark 9:28-29
