The Great Concern: Church Discipline: Part Two - Gal 2:11-16

I will lay out four reasons for church discipline with which we began to cover last week - focusing on the final two tonight.

1. It calls stragglers back into the church.
2. It confirms the Gospel in the church.
3. It keeps accountable leadership in the church.
4. It clarifies Gospel-produced holiness in the church.

1. Church Discipline holds leadership accountable in the church.
Galatians 2:11-14
*Warning of selfish ambition.
*Warning of self-centeredness.
*Warning to maintain self-discipline.

2. Church Discipline clarifies Gospel holiness in the church.
Galatians 2:15-16
*This holiness that flows from the righteousness of Jesus.
*This holiness that fervently relies on Jesus.
*This holiness that fully pleases God because of Jesus.
