Advent Series: The Biblical Importance of the Incarnation
For Whom Did the Son of God Become Man?
Genesis 38
1. Meet a rotten sinner, separated from God. Gen. 38:1-25
*a runaway from God. Genesis 38:1-5
*a liar. Genesis 38:6-11
*a fornicator. Genesis 38:11-19
*a hypocrite. Genesis 38:20-25
2. Meet a reborn saint, changed by God. Genesis 38:26-30
*A startling admission.
*Sign that points to the Savior.
3. Meet a redeemed saint, living for God. Genesis 43:8-9; Genesis 49:10
*Judah, a man living a redeemed life.
*Judah, a man promised a rich future, all because of Christ!
Closing thought: Have you identified yourself as the rotten sinner, in need of
a rebirth (a life-change of the heart)? If you claim to be born-again, are you
living out a life that demonstrates a saint redeemed by God? If you answer
“no” to any of these questions, why not call on Jesus to be your Savior and
Lord today.
