The New Testament 's Best Sequel: Acts
June 7, 2020 Speaker: Mahlon Smith Series: Invitation to the New Testament
Sermon summary: It is often the case that sequels are not as good as the original. When we enter the New Testament, we find that the sequel to Luke’s Gospel, Acts, is just as good and exciting as its first volume. What happened after Jesus’ ascended into Heaven? Only a remarkable, and unique figure like Jesus could bring about such powerful effects as we find in Acts. In this message, we want to see why Acts is worthy of our time and application.
1. See the ascended Christ. Acts 1:1-11
2. Spirit of God has come. Acts 2:1-47
3. Strategy for evangelism. Acts 1:8
4. Seeking God’s will. Acts 16
