The Old Testament

1. Abraham -Fearing God means having faith in God.
2. Moses- Fearing God means loving God and obeying his commands.
3. Joshua- Fearing God means remembering what he has done and trusting his leading.
4. David- Fearing God brings blessing upon his children.

The New Testament

1. The Church in Corinth – It still means the same thing.
2. The Church in Colosse- It still has the same reward

1. From the very beginning, the first commandment to mankind was designed to teach us to fear God. We understand from the wisdom books that the chief end of man is to live in the fear of Yahweh. And we conclude with the day when God will call all those who have feared him to celebrate with him forever.
