Repentance, Turning from Sin to Turn to the Lord
Genesis 20
Sermon summary: The heart of the Biblical life of faith rests upon the twin pillars of faith and repentance. Faith is when I trust in Jesus and His work done on my behalf as revealed in the Gospel. Repentance is turning from sin to turn to the Lord as revealed in the Gospel. Repentance, like faith, not only characterizes the beginning of the Biblical life of faith, but defines the remainder of what follows from it. In this message, we want to consider the significance of Biblical repentance, and why it matters to you.
- Repentance prizes the righteousness of God. Genesis 20:4-5
- Repentance is a grace of God. Genesis 20:6-7
- Repentance works with the Word of God. Genesis 20:6-7
- Repentance desires correction of wrong before God. Genesis 20:8-16
