Evening series: God is More Than Awesome!

John 1:1-18

Sermon summary: We’ve explored in this series: “that God is”; “What kind-of-God-God is”; and “Who God is”. We looked last week at the Trinity in the New Testament and the Person of the Father. This message will begin our journey into considering the Person of the Son of God. What is meant when we speak of the Son of God being, “truly God and truly man”? Why does this matter? Let’s explore!

1. The Pre-incarnate Son of God. John 1:1-5

*Pre-eternal glory.

*Personal revelatory glory.

2. The Incarnate Son of God. John 1:6-18

*Glory of His pre-existence.

*Glory of His public ministry.

*Glory of His personal incarnation.

3. Applications for you and me.

*Having the right Jesus is the only way we are made

right with The Father.

*As truly God, Jesus is with us at salvation, in life and throughout eternity. As truly man, Jesus can empathize for us in salvation, with us in life and evermore throughout eternity.
