Message: The God that is Known by His Names
Genesis 4:25-26

Sermon summary: This series is dedicated to exploring how God is more than awesome! We are engaging in an area of Bible doctrine called, “Theology Proper”, which refers to the Bible’s teaching about God’s being, attributes, identity and glory. We have explored how we can know the “God that is” – i.e. exists and “the kind-of-God that God is” – i.e. His attributes. We are now beginning to move into that third broad area of theology proper in which we strive to know God’s identity. In this message, we focus upon how God’s names bring to us this God that is more than awesome!

1. God’s names refers to His personality. Genesis 13:4;
Matthew 28:19 and other passages.

2. God’s names reveal His perfections. Exodus 3:14;
Jeremiah 23:34 and other passages.

3. God’s names refocus on the Person of the Son.
