Greetings:

Greetings in the name of our Lord. I hope as you search through our website that you get a picture of the great people that God has brought to New Hope. God has blessed us with some great ministry leaders. As we continue to reach out to our community God leads the way. He has led us to a ministry to families, and our members are a “family.” While we are not perfect, many have found a “home” at New Hope.

Youth Ministries:

From the Youth Pastor:

How many times have you said or thought something like this: "I am sick and tired of being treated like a kid!"

Many times, teenagers who are in those funny years between childhood and adulthood have a desire to be treated as an older person, but when it comes to taking responsibility, they fall back on their youth as an excuse!

I Timothy is a letter written by Paul to Timothy, a young man in years, and in the faith. In fact, Paul refers to Timothy as a son in the faith. In chapter 4, verse 12, we find some encouraging words: "Let no one despise your youth..." Sometimes young people grab a short verse like this and stake their claim that older people in the church should treat them as equals, and that youth ministries should not be looked down upon, or treated as less important than any other aspect of church life. But to gain a true perspective of Paul's meaning, we have to finish the verse!!

"Let no one despise your youth, but be believers in the word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity." You see, along with being treated as equal and important, there comes some responsibility and action on your part! You as students at NHBC have a tremendous opportunity in front of you to see some events and ministries unfold! As more and more details become known about the Master Plan that will so mightily affect all that we do here as a church, educate yourself, involve yourself in the process, and find out how God can use you.

Blessings,

Richard Goforth
