Greetings,

God has given me the privilege of being the senior pastor of a great church. That God has placed me here for such a time as this there is no doubt. I was born in Maine and raised in New Hampshire, which makes me a Yankee through and through. I have a wonderful wife, Nina, who is our ever efficient church secretary and two daughters Amy and Michelle, both married and have each blessed us with four delightful grandchildren, Ava, Bethany and Austin and Andrew. God allowed me to have a career in the Air Force, in explosives and weapons no less, before retiring in 1994 from Griffiss AFB in Rome, NY. The folks at New Hope had received my resume, no one knows how though, and kept calling me to come and talk with them. I had plans of going south, where after 9 years in Alaska and 2 years in New York, there was a lot less snow! But God had other plans. I accepted the call to come and knew immediately this was where God wanted my family.

I came to New Hope with a degree in computers from Wayland Baptist University and immediately began my seminary training with the Northeast Branch of Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. There I received my Masters of Divinity with languages. Currently I am finishing my Doctor of Ministry studies at Liberty University. God has blessed me by sending me on numerous mission trips throughout Alaska and the US, along with trips to Romania and Africa and now Haiti. I also am involved with the World Changers youth mission work of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the SBC and have I served as a trustee for NAMB.

Our vision for New Hope is to be the best we can be with God’s help in ministering to families. With the traditional family under attack as never before we must do all we can to strengthen the family’s foundation. The One who created the family, God, is the only one who can hold the family together. We strive to strengthen family relationships to each other and to God. New Hope has many classes to offer the family with new classes coming soon. I hope you will consider taking one of our classes. We have just completed our new facility and now have room to accomplish even more ministry!

With Watertown being home to the Army’s Ft. Drum, which is the most deployed military unit in America, we are able to understand the military family needs as well. Having faced separation and difficult times myself, I am able to understand better how the church can be there for them. Our family at New Hope is about 40% military with the rest of the family experienced or somehow tied to the military. We support our soldiers 100%. God is putting together a team of wonderful folks here at New Hope, with whom I have the great pleasure to serve. I hope you will consider God’s will and come join us in worship.

In Christ,

Pastor Stan
